Abstract: In recent years, the Russian studies in China have made great progress, but at the same time, our studies and the object to study have changed greatly. So our studies are far from meeting the interests of China and the requirement for the studies as a separate discipline. Facing the fact that Russian society in transformational stage has significance to human history, to Russia itself and to China, the China’s Russian studies must be comprehensive, multi-perspective and in-depth, with attention to both macro level such as Russian political and economic development direction, and micro level such as detailed situation that changes in Russia. The focus of the study should be the following: making full use of cross-disciplinary, different paradigms of study, different theories and methodology so as to achieve comprehensive results. The cross-disciplinary study means breaking the walls of different studies so as to be both “expert and wide” ; Joining history and contemporary studies is meant to re-judge history and understand reality against the historical background; Trying new research areas, putting forth new perspectives, and employing new methods are to encourage original thoughts so as to “bear the vision of motherland” ; Focusing on China will maintain and promote China’s interests, and seeing Russia from the Chinese point of viwer. “Looking at the world” means we will draw nutrition from the international studies of Russia.
