Abstract: The historical process of Russia’s political transition in the time of Yelsin helped to bring about a sense of “nationality”. The inherent implications of “nationality” underwent the following development: national sovereign independence, reestablishment of national institutions, consolidation of national institutions and construction of a new national concept of Russia. The political infl uence of “nationality” concept was refl ected in the ideological sphere of ruling concept of national onsolidation and establishing nationwide concept of nationality in the different historical periods of Yelsin’s time. This article will try every means to interpret Russia’s political transition from the perspective of “nationality” concept and connotations of Yelsin’s time.
