Abstract: A supplemental agreement was concluded on the eastern section of the Sino-Russian border in 2004, making the many-year Sino-Russian demarcation negotiations come to the end at last and delimiting their entire common border. This brought glad tidings for the people living on the frontiers and made a contribution to the peace and stability of the local area and even the whole world. In the talks, Chinese party made major concessions and showed an utmost sincerity. Some Russian scholars distorted the agreement, twisted the history of the eastern section formation of the Sino-Russian border since the Treaty of Nerchinsk in 1689 and stired up discontent over the demarcation. It does not accord with the fundamental interests of the Chinese people and Russian people and runs counter to the historical facts.
