Abstract: Russia is a major energy exporter while China is a major energy consumer; the Sino-Russian energy cooperation is given more and more concern by the governments of the two countries. Looking from the realistic situation, the Sino-Russian energy cooperation is of many favourable factors and has achieved a series of positive results. But their cooperation also has a lot of restraints, for example, there exists difference in their energy economic interests and Russia’s investment environment needs to be improved. Some of the restraints are not easy to be eliminated in a short time and their infl uence upon the Sino-Russian energy cooperation in future can not be underestimated. Therefore, both China and Russia are required to have a foresight plan as a whole and carry forward their energy cooperation in harmony, making their energy cooperation a support for their strategic cooperation and their peaseful development.
