Abstract: Russian population crisis took place in the early 1990’s which has lasted for almost twenty years up to now. Of the long-drawn-out and spreading-in-all-Russia crisis, the population state in the east area of Russia is especially grave and there is no sign of alleviation at present. The primary factors that pose a threat to the population security of the east area are that population’s reproduction capacity is insuffi cient, large numbers of people outfl ow, manpower is seriously short and illegal immigration runs wild.
