Abstract: As President Obama was in power and drastically adjusted the U.S.’s Russian policy and reestablished normal relations with Russia, Russia took this opportunity to adjust its diplomatic strategy actively, changed its tough line against the West countries headed by the United States and its diplomacy was heavily oriented toward the West; Russia attracted capitals and technology from the West for its domestic modernization construction. That Obama’s government made great efforts to adjust its Russian policy and Russia recognized its position in the world constituted the general background of this round of adjustment of Russia’s West-oriented diplomatic strategy.
