Abstract: Before Pushkin, The general development level of Russian fi ction fell far behind that of the West Europe countries. The infant, absolete, simple and rough narrative of Russian fi ction is the main cause for this. Pushkin extremely enriched the narrative of Russian fi ction and made it stand on its own feet and laid the fi rm foundations for Russian literature to have brilliant achievements in the nineteenth century.
