Abstract: Lenbichy was a pressman of a Russian national living in China in the 1920’s. He had worked for a Russian newspaper speech as a war correspondent and had a great infl uence in the Russian press during the First World War. After the October Revolution, he joined the White Russian Army and then took a detour to come to Harbin. He started running a newspaper in China. He ran a newspaper such as Rays of Light , etc. successively in Harbin, Shanghai and Tianjin and organized a newspaper group which was the only interregional one set up by a foreigner in China. His success was credited to his organized ability and administrative talent as well as his generosity. He claimed that his advocacy for running a newspaper embodied impartiality and commercial independence. He brought Russia’s advanced experience for running a newspaper to China and changed the backwardness of the press in Harbin, and put commercial elements into the development model of the local Russian press.
