Abstract: The collapse of the Soviet Communist Party and the breakup of the Soviet Union took place when Gorbachev was in power. Therefore, we must first of all try to find the causes of the drastic change in him. Exploring the pitfalls of the Soviet mode is an essential content for drawing a lesson. Gorbachev’s economic reform had a good starting point once, but did not move forward because of meeting with diffi culties in his term of offi ce, his guiding ideology variation and his error in policy making. His new political thinking had a partial rationality and the vital part of it was making his strategies based on the identity of the world of unity of opposites. The multiparty system was the product of a time-and-again setback in the Soviet Union’s reform and a repeated error in its policy. The Communist Party of the Soviet Union was a soul and link of the federal state; the collapse of the Soviet
