Abstract: The international relations of Central Asia mainly have three characteristics: fi rst, some great powers’ contest in Central Asia goes intense, international relations become even more complicated; Russia pushes forward and the United States is subject to change, China’s infl uence increases in Central Asia; the struggle between Russia and the US is still a main trend; all the forces wane and wax in turn and present a dynamic parity. Second, the Central Asian countries’ principle of diplomatic choices is to maximize short-term interests, this determines the uncertainty and diversification of the Central Asian countries’ diplomacy. Third, the contradiction between the Central Asian countries is constantly upgrading and the regional fragmented trend becomes obvious.
