Abstract: After the end of the Cold War, the Ukraine has treated the development of its ties with Europe as a main objective of its foreign diplomacy. Joining the EU is a key of blending in European family and upgrading its national position and also an important means of promoting the reform of its domestic political and economic systems and strengthening the national identity. And the development of relations with the Ukraine is the needs of the EU to maintain security and stability and to boost democracy and human rights value and to contain Russia. In view of the Ukraine’s important geopolitical and geoeconomic roles and the never-cutting-off historical origins between Russia and the Ukraine, its strategy of blending in Europe will give Russia a certain infl uence.
