Abstract: In the Soviet period, N. Korea had close economic relations with Russia. But, after the Soviet Union collapsed, their economic relations entered dormancy for almost ten years. It wasn’t until the 21st century that their relations gradually returned to normal. At present, the relationships between N. Korea and Russia have become a key link in Russia’s strengthening economic relations with Asia and Pacifi c region. As for the Dongbei China adjoining N. Korea and Russia, the relations between N. Korea and Russia will certainly infl uence the development of its foreign economic relations.
