Abstract: Group differences of a large scale of political and economic transition are an important feature in the twenty-year transition practice. Examining the basic achievements of economic and political transition of five Central Asian countries and eight Eastern European countries, comparing the differences of their transition results, we fi nd out that political transition is of independence and has restrictions on economic transition and growth in the relations of economic and political transition.
