Abstract: After the Poland uprising took place in 1863, Moscow News vigorously advocated patriotism and loyalty to the monarch, maintained that the policies of cruel military autocracy and compulsory Russianization be carried out in Poland and the west area of Russia so as to eliminate the root that sabotaged the imperial system. In the war time, Moscow News made use of every means to stimulate Russians’ nationalist feelings and served the despotic government. After Poland uprising in 1863, Moscow News became a tool for suppressing the Poland uprising by the despotic regime and the ideological center of nationalism.
