Abstract: The first edition of the Collected Works of Lenin in Chinese started to be translated in 1953 and completed in 1959. More than twenty years later, the Central Compilation & Translation Bureau decided to thoroughly collate the first edition of the Works because they found some mistakes in the translation and there were some new achievements of the Works published by the Soviet Union. In the process of collation, there were two retranslated parts: one was retranslating “the literature of the Party” into “the publications of the Party”, another was “what the patriotism is”. The retranslation of the two parts is of an important significance in a deep study of the classical Works of Lenin.
