Abstract: Russia's economic and political transformation presents obvious cascade development, its foreign strategy also change subsequently. At the beginning of the transformation, Russia unable to pull the CIS countries to realize regional economic integration, it can only take part in all kinds of sub-regional economic cooperation. After a strong recovery, both “unified economic space” and “customs union” had smooth implementation. Mr. Putin had more ambitious “Eurasian Union” strategic thinking. Through the analysis to this strategic plan, essential characteristics and of the impact, it is foreseeable long-term development trend of regional economic integration in CIS and development features of the regional cooperation in Central Asian countries in the future.
