Abstract: After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russia chose to support Armenia in the territorial dispute between Azerbaijan and Armenia. In order to balance and to weaken the affection of Russia, Baku can only seek geopolitical rely from other countries. Relations among the United States, NATO, the European Union and Azerbaijan's rapid heating up, made the influence of Russia in sharp decline. Considering military cooperation among the United States, NATO and Azerbaijan, Baku’s irreversible Europe choose, especially the opening of the strategic oil and gas pipelines to Europe, Russia face many difficulties against Azerbaijan’s situation.
