Abstract: Russian civilization has essential difference with the western civilization. The contemporary western civilization derives from the Renaissance. As the cornerstone of Russian civilization, Orthodox is the eastern religion, and always to strengthen the oriental attributes of Russian civilization. Eastern attributes of Russian civilization determine it unable to integrate into the Western. Peter opens the first round of the westernization process which was ended by the October Revolution; Gorbachev started the second round of the westernization process which was reversed by Putin. The eastern attributes of Russian civilization influenced its interior and exterior strategies deeply and largely: Russia can’t blend into the west, but the independent development road; its relations with the west will be cooling and stabilized, and sometimes tense; CIS countries will become Russia's diplomatic priorities in the long term, and the relationship will move forward twists and turns; the Eastern- integration of Russia's economy will accelerate; the comprehensive strategic partnership with China continues to strengthen.
