Abstract: In the field of geopolitical discipline, Nikolay Danilevsky’s book, Russia and Europe, is Russia's geopolitical foundation work. The book embodies the basic concept and study mode of Danilevsky’s geopolitical thoughts. Namely: the opposition between Russia and Europe, the reflection of Europeanization, Eastern problems and Slavic union idea, etc. which has important influence on the formation of geopolitics in Russia, and even Western Europe. Especially, the Eurasianism geopolitics ideology inherited and developed from the spirit kernel of his thought. In addition, Danilevsky made a significant historical contribution to the innovation of geopolitical theory and the contemporary Russian national security.
