Abstract:Since its inception, Eurasianism as a cultural trend has been trying to establish itself as the dominant cultural pattern in Russia, with continuous efforts by classical and new Eurasianists alike. Many researchers interpreted Eurasianism from geographic, historical, ethnological and geopolitical perspectives. Nevertheless, Eurasianism should be examined more through the lenses of cultural philosophy, putting such a cultural pattern under the scrutiny of cultural model, cultural ontology and cultural critique, thus connecting Eurasianism with the very existence of the Russia nation and the country's future orientation. The current Russian leadership intends to apply Eurasianism to national operation by highlighting the unique "Eurasian" characteristic in Russian culture. Based on such practice, Russia tries to provide the theoretical basis for seeking the path to becoming a great power. In respect of theory and Russia's realistic cultural choice, Eurasianism serves as the inevitable destiny for Russia's cultural positioning.
