Abstract: Before the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War, the German people in the Soviet Union were not a uniformed group. They played an important role in their regional economy. After the War broke out, the Soviet authorities' distrust towards the German people and the tension of the German troop's advancement caused the Germans to become the first nation forced to migrate collectively within the Soviet Union. Afterwards, the Germans suffered another persecution and were mobilized to participate in the labor army. The Germans' forced migration during the Great Patriotic War seriously hurt their national pride, leading to historical grievances and economic losses for the Soviet Union. Of course, the migration also sped up the progress of all the German groups getting closer and integrating with each other.
