Abstract:The concept of co-constructing “Silk Road Economic Belt” proposed by China gains continuous attention in Russian academic circles. Attitudes transform from query to cautious acceptance, and then to affirmation. Scholars in Russia proposed their comprehensions and opinions to the connotations of the “Silk Road Belt” from the perspective of history and language, conducted analysis and unscrambling to its intention from various aspects such as economic, diplomatic, geographic relationships, strategic and others. Combining the issues of Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Euro-Asia Economic Union, influence of Central Asia and so forth, discussions were developed towards the new change that may be generated between China and Russia. In the meantime, Russian scholars highlighted evaluating the opportunity and challenge brought to their country.
