Abstract:After the Soviet Union declared war against Japan, the former captured hundreds of thousands of Japanese as prisoners of war, most of whom were sent to the places of the Soviet Union for labor. In late 1946, the Soviet Union began to repatriate Japan prisoners of war. By April 22, 1950, the vast majority of the prisoners were sent home, except a small number of convicted war criminals. During the period, the Soviet Union systematically arranged Japanese prisoners of war for labor, by setting up a special prisoner of war camp, labor groups, and a complete system of labor management. These prisoners were scattered to work in different industries across different regions of the Soviet Union, contributing to the post-war recovery of the Soviet economy and the implementation of the country's five-year plan.
