Abstract: The scale of economic cooperation between Central Asian countries and China is not large, but its position in the foreign policy of China is high. With the point-axis theory as the basis and adhering to the five principles of “Observance of Tenets and Principles of the United Nations Charter, Openness and Cooperation, Harmony and Understanding, Market Operation, Mutual Benefit and Win-win Result”, the “Silk Road Economic Belt” creates a community of density and interests together with Central Asian countries through joint discussion, joint development and win-win. Currently, the promotion of “Silk Road Economic Belt” in China is benefited from such opportunities as expanded strength of China, smooth development of SCO and much strategic consensus among various countries, but also faced with such challenges as bottleneck in infrastructure, lack of bulk trade support, uncertain political risks, competition among great powers and resource constraint, etc.
