Abstract: Currently, the poppy growing area and opium yield of Afghanistan, the inland Asian country in close geographical relationship with the SCO member countries, are staying in the high level. The drug trafficking is increasingly rampant, and the drug problem is interweaved with the terrorist organization and organized crime, causing severe influence on the safety, stability and social and economic development of SCO member countries, and damaging the normal life of citizens. Since the foundation of SCO, the drug control cooperation has been taken as the important tenet and mission of the organization, and importantresults have been achieved in terms of mechanism construction perfection and practical cooperation of drug control. As the problems of Afghanistan cannot be cast off overnight, the regional situation is complex and changeable, and some inherent contradictions among the SCO member countries are hard to be solved, thus the drug control cooperation of SCO still faces certain problems and challenges.
